How many of us have more than on pre 64 M70 In the same caliber? I'll be the first to admit I'll never complete a 12 step program when it comes to fine firearms.
Currently there are 8 calibers that are represented by more than one specimen.

I have 10 different calibers, but the only duplicates that I currently have are two 270 FWTs.

Got a '53 and a '54 fwt. .308. One is a laser beam and the other one looks great. So, I guess I'm stuck.

3 standard 270's and one fwt, 1 std and 1 fwt 06, recently got back to 1 264, and 2 fwt 308's, 2 375's. Oh, one true 300 and one rechambered 06 as well.

I had a bunch of duplicates as I was replacing my Pre 64 with Pre Wars. Only (original) duplicate I have left is a 270 Win which I bought a dozen years ago as a doner- it had been reblued and refinished. Haven't touched it in years. Prolly gonna sell it as I have 2 Pre War actions and 2 extra Pre War bolts, LW barrels and wing safeties to play with.
I did "copy" not duplicate my Sisk .300 Win with a Pre War, but that Sisk is my "go to" travel rifle as it has shoot one holers since I had it built in '04.
Funny, the more I hunt the less calibers I seem to use. 90%+ of my hunting has been with either a .270 or .300 Win. The rest with a 340 Wby or 375 H&H (Pre 64/War).

I've only got two pre-64 M70's, both .270, one a Standard and the other a FW. I guess I need a Super Grade for my ".270 Trifecta". I doubt it's going to happen though, as they're going out faster than they're coming in. Also got a M70 XTR in .270 Weatherby but it's kind of the bastard brother and doesn't count. yooper

My duplicates are as follows. Some of these I hunt with, some just shoot at the range and some just to have and to hold.
22 Hornet-3, 2 rifles 1 carbine 220 Swift-2, 1 std rifle, 1 varmint 243- 4, 2 FWT 1 std, 1 varmint 264-2 1fwt,1 std 270-4 2fwt, 2 std 7MM-3, 1 std rifle, 2 carbines 300 Savage, 2 rifles 30/06, 3, 1 fwt, 2 std
I'll be taking the 243 Varmint and the Swift along with one of the Hornets to Wyoming this week to shoot prairie dogs.

I'm the first to admit I'm not a rational person when it comes to fine firearms:) The shotgun addiction is worse than the M70's. When I get back from Wyoming a custom Fox 16ga will be ready and another awaiting it's turn......but first is the 275 Rigby to be built as a stalking rifle on a Mauser action.
HELP!!!:):)

At various times, yes I've had duplicates in various calibers. But I've calmed down in recent years and now have only 3 270 FW's.
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

I have been trying to narrow my collection down to mostly good user rifles. That being: 1. 270 FWT 2. 30-06 FWT 3. 338 Win mag 4. 375 H&H magnum.... I'd like to eventually find a real nice target grade 220 swift or 243 like the one winpoor had for sale a while back. The only thing that is stopping that from happening is my Ruger m77 mkII target/varmint shoots well enough right now:
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

HELP!!!:):) GSP, those fox shotguns are very nice and some of the best carrying/handling field guns I've hunted with. My grandfather gave me his 1910 sterlingworth before he passed away in '93. I've shot many upland birds with it, as well as many turkey. It just plows them down... The cool thing about this one is it originally belonged to my grandpas dad and he shot left handed as I do. It fits me like a glove..

I have way too many in 30/06 BTDT. Had to thin the herd big time... It was hard to do too, because they have all been damn good shooters...

bsa, it's great that that beauty has stayed in the family. Not long after my dad got his first A-5 he gave me his L.C. field grade 12 ga. 30"" full & mod. that was a wedding present from my mom in'41. Several years ago I actually toyed with the idea of having 4" removed, a set of mod. and imp. cyl. chokes installed and slaying quail with it. Needless to say, I DID come to my senses and left it alone.

BSA what a treasure you have in the family Fox. I recently adopted a Sterlingworth (ok two really one with ejectors) with 32 inch barrels. This will be a target gun until the ejector gun comes back from the beauty shop. As far as shotguns go my first love are Parkers esp small bores.
GBOB Yes you have company:)

No duplicates in the pre 64's here, only in my classic New Havens.
Pre 64's:
1941 Hornet Std 1959 243 Std 1949 270 Std 1959 300 H&H Std 1959 338 Std 1950 375 H&H Std
Classics I have:
Classic stainless .270 Classic Stainless Super Grade .270 Classic STainless FWT in .243
And they all have or will be taken into the field to hunt with.
