Anything firearm related worth seeing or doing around the Myrtle Beach area (within 2hrs). Need something else to do other than sit with the women's and watch waves crash.

Look up Back Woods Quail Club, shoot some sporting clays maybe. Go to Front St in Georgetown. Charter a boat go fishing out of Murrels Inlet. Dirty Myrtle is the debil.

About 20 or so miles inland from Myrtle Beach on US 501 is a little town called Conway. There is a really decent gun store/range there called "The Gun Shop". I think it's on 701 but Conway is really small and anyone can direct you to it.

The Seafood Hut in Calabash is the bomb. It has a huge following here in the Carolinas. Why not head to the Cherry Grove Pier and try some pier fishing? No gun related, but might have a great time.

You can come hunt with me if you don't mind the heat and some bugs. Killed a nice 175 pound 9 point this past Saturday - already out of velvet.

Pawleys Island...as close to Heaven as it gets. Pawleys island Seafood is great, as is most spots in Murrells Inlet. Get as far away from Myrtle as you can Charleston has a very good gun shop there...Carolina Rod and Gun. ATP is a good shop for the black rifle folks as well.

BYC,
I hunted Bamberg last year, but am hunting in Kline this year. It is in Allendale county. We are seeing lots of small bucks and a good many fawns too, so it looks like the coyotes didn't get all of them!

I heard there were some early bucks taken in that area. Maybe they're finally making their way across the border from Waynesboro, GA.
Also, I hear you on the 'yotes. They're becoming a real problem in the upstate. Especially, with turkeys.
Seeing armadillo's now as well.

BYC,
I saw an Armadillo Saturday as well. Nasty little creatures. I guess they eat turkey eggs, huh? I never thought of that. I will have to whack a few of them.

You could also take a medium casting rod and some cut mullet and see what is biting in the surf. The blue fish might be running

If you don't mind a side trip, on your way down via I95, head west on US74 to Laurinburg, then go ten miles north on US401 to Wagram - stop at Mid South Guns (closed on Sunday and Monday and at 5:00 pm everyday). You won't be sorry if you love old guns. If you like Case Knives stop off on exit 98 in Selma, about 1 mile west is the Surf & Turf (a small engine repair shop - go figure) largest stock of Case Knives in NC.

if you are going down I-95, a stop in Yemassee is always fun. The K Sabatier French kitchen knife factory outlet is there.
