Ii bought the rifle about a year back from Cabelas. I'll even sweeten the kitty a little and offer some RL19 and IMR 4350, the best powders for this rifle.
The main reason for not shipping is that the box has Winchester written all over it. I don't have another box to put it in and UPS won't either. Plus, It'll cost a good $75 or more plus insurance to ship, depending on location.

Bump for a nice rifle... BTW, last time I shipped a rifle in a Winchester box, I unfolded, and refolded the box with all of the printing on the inside, specifically to avoid advertising what was on the inside. Tempting even for Southpaw. And I am close enough to drive...

Wrap the box in heavy brown shipping paper, works pretty good!

And I am close enough to drive... Well, then- come on down! Wrap the box in heavy brown shipping paper, works pretty good! If it comes down to it, I may have to do that. Surely some here are within a short drive.

I've wrapped up the box many times without issue. You'll need brown paper tape if using USPS.

UPS Stores have boxes large enough to slide the Winchester box in.Just shipping in a Winchester box does not offer much protection from damage on that beautiful rifle.
Its all right to be white!! Stupidity left unattended will run rampant Don't argue with stupid people, They will drag you down to their level and then win by experience

Exactly, that's why I was hesitant to ship it.

Stick it in a hard case and mail it.
The only thing I'm an expert at is my own opinion, and I have plenty of those!

Stick it in a hard case and mail it. That's what I'd do. Get one of the rectangular hard cases and take the foam out so the box will fit. But I don't blame you for not wanting to ship such a nice rifle.

The few times I shot it I must have hit the nail on the head with a load. Using some old Nosler 140 grainers I had this is actually a three shot group.

"An archer sees how far he can be from a target and still hit it, a bowhunter sees how close he can get before he shoots." It is certainly easy to use that same line of thinking with firearms. -- Unknown
