Especially Ube on account of the Bisley Vaq.

I think Shiner Bock has taken over from Lone Star as the official beer of Texas.

One dove? You, my friend, are hunting in the wrong part of S. Texas. Fast and furious here. My problem was hitting whitewings with a stiff wind behind them (at least that's the excuse I'm using).

Doves are very hit and miss a lot of times.

I had a bunch here in my wild sunflower patch, about 2 weeks ago.

A drive through it today and ZERO birds... its not been hunted at all this year either....

I hunted opening day just East of Hobbs, NM, and managed to kill a limit, but it was pretty slow going.

Killed a few more next morning for a total of 24.

All pass shooting at the end of a caliche ridge, and that's the hardest kind of shooting for me.

Sat on a tank north of Sierra Vista opening morning, limited out by 8:45. There were about 8 other guys out there, kept the birds flying. Went to the same place the next day, no one else showed up, only got 12. Lots of birds, but they all had a direct way in except where I was sitting.

On the other hand, it's gonna be a banner year for quail this year. They're everywhere! My wife and I sit out on our back porch every evening and watch all the babies coming into the back yard.

I "hunted" doves with my imaginary shotgun for the last few weeks from our pool, and limited almost every day. cool

Season opened last Tuesday 2 miles north of here, and I have hardly seen one since!

We hammered them here. Opener was only about 45 minutes.

Had a hard time finding many doves around Tucson. Two of us scouted independently and the work paid off.

First six days had us limiting with 15 every day. Had to move a mile away after day four but the doves are still flying. My 1 1/2 yr old GWP is now an accomplished dove dog. Best season in over 6 yrs.

Leaving at 4:15 in 1/2 hr to be certain we get our spot. Day 7 should be good too. Will hunt till it stops or the season ends.
