Anyone still shooting a Browning Lowwall. I've got one in .260 that looks good now that all the glossy finish has been removed.

Yep; .260 and .22 hornet both. I went over the .260's stocks with a lemon oil/rotten stone paste, but that darn glossy finish was quite a bit harder than I figured, and it didn't come down hardly at all. I'll try 0000 steel this afternoon and see how that does. 41.5 gr. IMR 4064 and the 100gr. Nosler B-tip showed me just how special this particlular one is, and that's the load that I'd recommend you'd try if you're still looking. And the reduced load of 18gr. SR 4759 and Sierra's 85gr. HP shoots so well that I'm finding myself with no real need for the low wall hornet... it'll probably be one of the rifles I sell soon but wish that I hadn't 10 years from now...

I do not own one of these jewells yet. Im hoping that Browning will reintroduce that model...full tapered octagon barrel and pistol grip stock in the .308 based cartridges. What a neat little package.

Have one in 223, a real sweetheart. Have not loaded for it, shooting el-cheepo Federal 50 gr HPs way too good, I can hit PDs farther than the bullets will expand reliably. The classic action in a machine gun cartridge turns me off, some day I will have it rebored to 25/35 and just still hunt deer with it, until I kick the bucket. Bill

A friend of mine has one in 260, and it's a sweet little rifle. I do wish its LOP was a smidge bigger though. If I find one for myself (when I'm not strapped for cash) I think I'll have to remove the thin buttplate and have a 1" Decelerator fitted. I've already got the scope for it, a NIB old stock Leupy 6x36.

I have .223 and .22 hornet. Wish I could find a .260 and a .243 for reasonable prices, but they seem to be kind of rare.

You guys are KILLING me. Have a B-78 25-06 that I absolutely love in every respect except for weight. Thinking that a 260 Low Wall would be ideal for my left handed/eye dominant son.
OK OK ... a scoped 7 1/4 lb low wall really gets me hot too. Tho I see more utility in a longer casing for a single shot rifle. So, anybody with a .223 or hornet care to part with it knowing that it will be rebarreled into something cool .... swede, 6.5-06 AI, or the like?

I've got a .260 also. Wanted one for years but never laid eyes on one until one showed up on consignment a little over a year ago at a local shop that happens to be competition for the shop I'm at. Got it for $875 which seems cheap compared to the few I've seen listed in Gun List since. It's as new. Haven't shot a deer with it yet but it loves the Remington 120 gr Accu-Tip. Several one hole 3 shot groups @100. Neat little rifles that Winchester should revive. One in .338 Federal would be the cat's ass!

I have one in .243 Win. I didn't want a .243, I wanted a .260. But I opined that one trip to the wizard of Turtle rd. and it will be a .260 Rem. 'Sides, If I have it bored, I can have any twist I want. And I want a 1~8". [color:"green"]Grasshopper [/color]

Yep, I have a Hornet. I've owned two Hornets before this one, a Ruger M77 and a old rebarreled Win Lo Wall and this one is by far the most accurate. It will stabilize 40 grain Ballistic Tips, and will do about 5/8 MOA. The triggers are hard to tune, and the actions hard to disassemble & re-assemble, but it is very handy, pretty, and accurate. I also have a B78 octagonal barreled .25-06, and it is even more accurate.
I still wish the B78 would come back, but a .260 Rem in the Low Wall would probably be the next single shot I'd buy.

I'd give a grand today for a .260 low wall, but haven't seen one for sale in years. If I ever do find one, you'll be hard pressed to find someone who can pull out the plastic as fast as this guy!

I've got one in .260 that I had the glossy finish removed and replaced with an oil-type finish. I know most of you have seen thes pics before, but I sure am proud of it! I just need to hunt with it more. So far only killed a whitetail and a coyote with it... John

I'm looking for a low wall as well. 22 hornet or anything deer worthy.
Anyone want to swap for an FN PRB XP w/ Nikon tactical? (I can dream)

Hondo,
I had not seen these picture yet as I am fairly new to the campfire. I was just looking at the thread with the pictures of Eva Longoria. Great looking young lady. Then I saw your low wall and WOW, instant lust! Dude, lust is a sin and you just caused me to sin big time! Awesome rifle, congrats.
