No justification needed. 420s at a moderate velocity will put the hurt on any animal in North America -- or anywhere for that matter.

If you've wanted to sling 400gr and heavier bullets, that is where the 480 shines. I went up to 460 gr which was too much of a good thing, but 400-440 it's a tough round to beat.

FWIW, Midway has Starline .480 brass right now in stock, and it's cheaper than Hornady.

Starline makes excellent brass, as does Hornady. Given the price difference, however, I'd be hard pressed to ever buy Hornady 480 brass.
