With apologies to Cardinal Newman for using his title in the modern sense of apologia instead of the original sense (defense), I offer to all my Campfire compadres my sincere apologies for allowing myself to become a liability to this forum.

Any of us can change his ways if he but will.

I will. I am.

Walk in beauty, y'all!

Where did you come up with that??? I'd say the opposite is true. If being opiniated was a crime I'd have been hanged long ago. And without a diversity of opinion, strongly but rationally and civilly defended, life would be the ultimate bore.

Hey Ken, if they disagree with ya, screw 'em.

(OK, that was the fighter pilot in me, coupled with a few too many tonight.)

But seriously, you have as much right to a strong opinion as anyone - and more experience to back it up than most.

Besides, if they can't read Latin...screw 'em!

Glad to hear that Ken and I'm with ya. There's alot of hunting/shooting boards out there but 24HCF is definitely a cut above due to its very well-rounded membership. I've learned alot of lessons here (some of them even have to do with hunting/shooting ) and will do my best going forward to reflect my appreciation for this site and its members through what posts I respond to and the content of my responses as well.

Now if we can just get Rocky to quit hittin' the sauce before he logs on!!

Ken, I find myself disagreeing with the entire premise of a second post you've made in as many days.

A liability you are not.

Also, my lovely wife has never asked me to change, so I'll be hanged if I'd consider it for anyone here!

Don't need to shift gears on my account nor anyone else's. Qualified curmudgeons are too hard to come by these days, even if not everyone appreciates them.

Ken, from what I've read of your posts, to me you've always come across as a very decent person. However, the fact that you find fault with yourself, and endeavor to improve, should be a lesson to us all. I, for one, am humbled. A man much wiser than myself once said "The man who is dissatisfied with himself, what can he not do?', or something to that effect. Keep on keeping on, you are a tremendous asset to this site.

I like that! Real prose. Personally, I'd rather watch bugs crawl around on the sidewalk that to read through another one of those internet long penis contests. something about forum board brings out the preachers and borderline types.

Ken, Never aplogize. Your enemies never really accept it but much more importantly your friends do not need it. Would you care to make a friendly wager on just how many folks would come down on the friend side on this forum?? I for one know where my vote would go. TM

Ken:
You are one of the main assets on this board, not a liability. You remind me of a fellow that took me under his wing and mentored me in College 40 years ago and took me hunting and shooting and taught me the finer points of gun collecting when I was 300 miles away from home. I think of you as an Eagle with a mob of crows pulling at your tail feathers. Keep up the good work.

Ken,
The opportunity for consumers (readers) to contact writers directly, is a unique forum that benefits the readers for obvious reasons but also the writers, by offering them ideas on future topics to cover, based on the interest generated.

This is a classic "win, win" for all, that is far more than the commerical magazines can offer unto themselves.

The only problem we have here is a few individuals that follow the "old Chinese Emperor practice" of "shooting the messenger" with cheap shots.

It is human to react. Detractors are everywhere and you cannot escape them other than to ignore them until the thread dissapears into history.

Speak your mind and share your experiences as a free American. Those that forget that right, void it for themselves. The readers that enjoy your contribution will ultimately turn on those detractors and justice will be served.

Ken, we've crossed verbal swords a few times. I usually learn more from arguments I loose than those I win. Frankly, your post has me puzzled.

Dutch - Some of those posters do have an asset/liability, they don't fill in the last 12 spaces, LOL!

Sorry, couldn't resist, and I kept telling myself I wasn't going to post any on the "git" Ken crap.

I failed!!!
