First day of cooler weather here, supposed to get down in the 50's overnight. Cabbage rolls and homemade sauerkraut in the crockpot as we speak. should be done just in time for the LSU game tonight.

Love it when a saturday comes together the way it should.

Cool here today as well and the wife and I are also looking forward to the LSU game. I don't think it helps them that they got rained out last week.

Big pot of venison chili going here.

Bratwurst and sauerkraut. Sweet tea. Was lovely, that FSU trampled USF.

Back in the Stone Age, the dorm would always serve chili and toasted cheese on game day - wouldn't have seemed right without it.

hard to beat beer simmered brats with grilled onions and sauerkraut. I'm old school Michigan Polock, we live on sauerkraut.

made about 20# in July, let it ferment for 6 weeks in my beer fermenting fridge. 1 1/2 quarts are in with the stuffed cabbage now-we'll be on it in about 15 minutes.

We hit the icehouse down the road with a number of neighbors to celebrate the 80th birthday of who is essentially the poobah of the place we live. With that it was food trucks and what became fried shrimp poboys.

Those ribs look great, Dan, but why are they already hooked up to a heart monitor?

and they are just cool and fun to use!! grin

I have one of the older wireless setups, which my Dad really enjoys at the beach. Makes him feel like he's part of the cook!! He walks around with that hand-held pendant during the entire cook.

That's funny! smile

I like my Maverick, too. I like being able to sit on the couch watching the game or in my office, knowing exactly what's going on with the cook.

Substitute the cilantro with spinach sauteed in olive oil, garlic slivers, and a sprinkle of peperoncino flakes, and I am in like Flynn grin

Made my sister about 10 gallons of pico yesterday. With her chemo it's about all she wants to eat. Lot of chopping but it was a game time winner.
