caveman,

I have a couple of the Weaver RV7 2-7x rimfire scopes on light recoiling CF rifles; 22-250, .243, .260, 7.62x39, and .30-30. They have worked well for me, but I have not fired more than a couple of hundred rounds between the rifles upon which they have been mounted, so there could be some long term reliability issues lurking out there.

I don't know how well they will last on a rifle with heavy recoil, but the SKS has alot of bolt slamming type of recoil and the RV7 is doing OK.

Sincerely,

Bearrr264

Caveman,

I recieved the Weaver "rimfire" 4X - 28mm on friday. I mounted it upon my Remington 597 22cal since that was the quickest to mount to for me. I tried the scope out on saturday and sunday. Saturday was a clear and sunny day and the scope did well when I tried to 'flare' it. The optics seem very clear. The scope appears solid and the wieght is 9 oz.

After the hunting season here I will try it out on one of my center fires. Most likely the 7x57mm. The parallax is set for 50yrds and for me that is fine sice most of my on game shoots are under 100yrds. If it holds up in the spring I will let you know how it goes. Also at some point I will compare its view to that of Vari-X III, Fullfield II, and 4200 that I have. Nice thing about this scope is that it is easy to mount it low, which is the way I prefer my scopes.

The last thing so far nice about this scope is the fact it came to my door for just under $100 with the shipping even. Any questions let me know.

The Leupold 4 x 33 is my absolute first choice.

My how time goes... Two years! I thought maybe one here.
Regardless and update on the Weaver 4X 28mm Rimefire scope. It is a good scope optically and holds its own with the Vari-X III that I have on the 257. I have moved it from the Rem 597 22 to a Ruger 77/44 that the grand daughter use for deer hunting. Looks just right on that rifle.
I hope to give the rifle and scope a work out with the grand kids this summer as they prep for deer season and the fact that they love to the 44's at milk jugs with water and clay pigions on the back stop. This should tell me if it will hold. I think it will but time will tell.
If some one is happy with 50 yard parallex, as I am, then this seems a good 4x scope. If I was forced to pick a 4x with a 100 yard parallex then I would try the K4 base on my experance with this one. Any one out there with a newer K4?

Old post but Sightron 4x32. Will be swapping the 1.5-6 on the Marlin for the 4x soon. Pick, read my reply to your Marlin question, also have a 77/44, if you got a Winchester 88 layin around, I'd say we have a real similar taste in rifles.
