Nice elk. Are you processing all of it by yourself?

Off topic, but does anyone know a decent value range for an old Sea king 9.6 HP outboard motor? it starts and is in pretty decent shape for it's age, what would it be worth? 200-300? it has the fuel line and tank
sorry the pic aint the best

I would think you're in the ball park with the line and tank. That can be the hardest part to find sometimes.

Yeah, there's no way around it. You had to buy that boat.

to answer some questions....Wyoming and even though each one of us processes our own venison, we opted to bring it to a processor. I think all of us were just plain wore out.

Nice boat Ryan!

It is getting to be fall folks. I don't know if anyone has noticed or not.

Ryan,good looking boat.Thanks for remembering.

Dean,grEat elk.Glad you were successful.

We left here last Monday to spend a week in Rhode Island and visit family, see the sights and eat GOOD Italian food. We accomplished all of that and had a great time.
Yesterday we started home at 7:30 AM with the idea of spending one night somewhere and arriving home on Saturday morning or mid-day. Made good time until a two hour traffic tie up due to a wreck in Pennsylvania. We moved about two miles in two hours.
After that I just kinda got to making up time despite the rain we ran into and out of and back into. Wound up in southern Virginia at supper time. After supper I just told Linda to hang on cause we are going home.
On again, off again rain, crazy drivers going too fast for conditions, poorly marked roads. Etc. ,Etc.
I rolled into my garage at 12:30 midnight after 15 hours.
Damn glad to be home.
Went and got the two dogs out of the boarding kennel this morning. They were as glad to see me as I was to see them.
Anyhow, we had a great time and made it home safely and I got caught up on this thread.

Stan,

If you can handle 15 hours of traffic on the east coast from RI to SC, there is no excuse for not making a road trip to northern MN in Nov for a deer hunt you will never forget. One of my sons just moved back to MN from Baltimore and cannot believe the traffic difference. It took him about 15 hours of driving from Balt to Twin Cities.

Add another 5 or 6 and you are in northern MN.

Glad you survived the ordeal.

I'm retiring in a couple weeks. We live in Frederick MD, and my wife just drove down to NC to visit her Aunt and Uncle. She sent me a text, "we are moving to NC, there is no traffic down here". Next week I'm heading to Harkers Island, NC, for our annual fishing tournament. After clearing the DC Metro area it's pretty clear sailing, about 7-8 hours, pulling a 30ft Contender. That's a boat, not a single shot pistol. I have cousins in Duluth, all girls that don't hunt, I'd make the trip to hunt if invited, Joe.

I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

I did a few non-stops (other than to pee and eat on the fly) from Lejune to the Twin Cities back in the day. It is a doable road-trip.

Deer hunting here vs North Carolina isn't even comparable IMO.

That's quite a pull Stan. I travel all over the US in a vehicle and try to limit it to no more than 10 hours, but sometimes ya gotta just keep rollin on. Philly is notorious for old roadways that are very narrow. Any accident happens and there's no shoulder for the emergency vehicles or to push a disabled vehicle off.

Going to be blowing all the way through MN on 94 in a few weeks. About a 14 hour drive straight thru. On the way to NoDak for a week of duck hunting. I hope to pass all those Mannysotans in the opposite lane coming back from their 4 day teachers holiday weekend. You guys nearly double the population of the state while you're there. It's hard to find a place to hunt during that time without seeing "The Land of 10,000 Lakes" on every license plate.

We spent a wonderful weekend up north by the deer camp north of duluth. This time it was a father/daughter weekend. We went to a wedding Friday night, then spent a two beautiful days in the woods. We checked trail cams, rode 4-wheeler, hit the Portland Malt Shop, walked some trails for grouse, ate pizza.... It was a perfect weekend weather wise, and it was perfect company!
