Hey Guys,
Did Savage ever make the 99, in a solid frame, in .30-30, with a barrel longer than 20 inches? I have been looking for a while, but have never seen one. I have seen alot of take-downs, but no solid frames.
Thanks,
Mannyrock

Yes, I have a 30-30 in EG configuration with a 24" barrel, and there's an early "C" model with a heavy 22" barrel

1899A, B and C's were all made in 30-30 with 26" barrels, 99A with 24" medium barrels, 99E's (pre WWII) with 22 ", I'm probably missing a few others.

There are some 24" EG's in .30-30. The standard length for the "C" (early rifle weight brl), "E" (with raised ramp front sight, post-1926) and "EG" was 22". Not an easy find in any of those models. Probably the easiest .30-30 99 to find is the non-barrel band "H" but it has a 20" brl.
Savage...never say "never". Rick...
