Since you've never had one you should listen to what Big Stick said, as you do with "groups". Funny how most Big Stick fans live through him versus their own experiences..... Funny, I've managed to shoot an occasional group myself I'd say from my experiences, I can figure out which orifice the gases emit from various posters. I'm no fan of anyone and don't need to live through anyone elses experiences. I'm not too thickheaded to learn, nor too proud to admit there are folks that have more experience and skill than I. If you don't let petty jelousy get in the way, you might be able to learn to, then again

Believe it or not,I've a 308 in a 700 or two,to compare the 25-284's too.
And 223's,223AI,Swifts,22-250's,22-250AI,243,243AI,6AI,7-08,SAUM,WSM,yada,yada,yada.
There isn't a more simplistic machine than a boltgun and if someone cain't get a round peg, into a round hole,it is very telling.
None of 'em mediocre, that's done been proved. As to duping short action capabilities in a long action?
That ain't my gig............. Is your 25-284 on a long action? Don

You Alaskans can dish it out but sure as heck can't take it. Relax! I'm not trying to make enemies here. If you all promise not to cry any more I'll promise not to challenge any of your "Alaskan" claims .

It'd be a short action 700.
I'd lay odds on that...

All 3 of mine are short action, all my pards' are too.
75's at 3750fps,87/90 at 3575fps and 100's at 3400fps and a 23" tube. My others are 22" and 24".
Great cartridge and was toting the 23 incher today.....................

So I've heard,in certain Northern circles.
'Humper had his skeletonized/faceted/fluted bolt s/a 700 based 25-284 in tow.
Stretched it to 500yds and 75XFB's were going where the reticle was placed.
Typical.............

It's not that difficult. You always refer to clays so let me break it down for you. A clay at 500 yards is only .82 MOA! To get down to .5 moa you'd have to bust it at 850 yards, and VERY consistently to call it a 1/2 MOA rifle......

Damn...
I'm thinkin' the two of you need to meet on neutral turf, with clays at various ranges, game of plentiful varieties, and play for pink slips...
