Savage will sell your 'smith an unmarked factory barrel, CM in the white or SS. Your 'smith will have to sign a liability waiver, but it can be done.

Never had a problem with E. R. Shaw barrels. CM barrels in any Factory contour, blued shiny or matte, are $228. Just ordered one in .280AI.

I have a Shaw barrel that shoots good.
But, my best luck has been with Douglas and PacNor.

I have a stainless Shilen prefit in 243 on a Savage action that is my most accurate and consistent rifle.
I've used a number of ER Shaw Barrels as well. They are as good or better than a factory barrel, but not in the league of the Shilen.

Do you make a sporter or light varmint barrel? They do, however finding one in stock is nearly impossible and you'll have to wait for them to build it. That has been my biggest turn off with places that stock Savage pre-fit barrels, nearly all stocked barrels are bull or varmint. Rarely do I ever find one with a sporter or magnum contour barrel.
