I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about scheduled delivery date of the RSI in 6.5 Swedish?
It seems that the delay is getting longer...

We've been told the delay on shipping was due to Ruger sourcing upgraded wood, is this the case on the one you got at work? Heard some of the other 2015 models not much improved over the last couple of years.

My best friend put in a request for one when they first announced them so he put this one on layaway. I checked it out when it arrived. The wood is neither fancy, nor plain. It is much better than the two 7.62x39s we got but nowhere near as nice as the .257 Wby that came in. It is a medium color with some nice dark lines but nothing to crow about. My buddy is pleased with it though. I'm off until Wednesday but I'll try to remember to upload a picture or two when I get back.

Scott Yeah, my 9.3x74R was obviously cut from a rejected telephone pole.

Scott Yeah, my 9.3x74R was obviously cut from a rejected telephone pole. That is funny! I'm going to steal that saying. Guess I've always been of the opinion that except for a black plastic stock, there isn't much that can happen to an RSI that would make it unattractive to me. This one shown in the thread is more than pleasing to my eyes. I understand a lot of the clean-ups are intended to use up the objectionable wood products in the warehouse, as in the recent edition in 7.62x39, but some I've seen on Gun Broker were not that bad.

Have any of you seen or purchased the 2015 1-S .30-06?

I've been looking at those. In my mind that 24" #1S in .30-06 is the most balanced looking rifle of the whole series. Several have shown up on gunbroker with wood ranging from plain to decent. Going rate is mostly in the low to mid 1200's with a couple just under that. Best price I've seen so far was one being offered by a California store for $1,100 starting bid. It had really nice wood, good grain with lots of fiddleback but the auction ended early, I assume because it sold in the store.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
