I have an opportunity to buy a Meacham barrelled action (.22 Hornet) complete with a Unertl scope for a very good price.
I know absolutely nothing about Meacham. Can anyone help with info, pictures, experiences, etc?
Thanks,

Try www.meachamrifles.com (per 2015 Gun Digest). I believe that Meacham built (and may still build) replica Winchester HiWall (1885) actions in Idaho. I have heard that they are so close to originals that the original parts will interchange with Meachams. They were, and maybe still are, very expensive actions. 1885 actions are, in my not-so-humble opinion, the best single shot actions of all time, unless you are into "English Best" prices. Many will not agree--everybody has his favorite. And Unertl scopes are collector's items in their own right.

Thanks, Mike.
I now have a Meacham barrelled action in .22 Hornet that is new, never been stocked or fired. There is a spare NIB .375 barrel. DNK twist but intended for black powder cartridge use.
I met the owner, an old fellow, at a gun show who is in bad health and who was selling his stuff out. He also had a Unertl scope. I wanted the Unertl but he offered me a package deal I couldn't turn down. I bought what he had.
I now own a new Meacham barrelled action and have no idea what to do with it... and no idea what they are worth.
Suggestions solicited...

Treebone Gunstocks would be a good place to start. http://www.treebonecarving.com/winchester-highwall-stocks.htmlLots of beautiful examples. Hornet would be nice although I would probably put it on a low wall action. A 38x55 with lead bullets would be fun. The Meacham is a desirable action. Finished rifles start around $3-4,000 and not many are for sale. They are no longer in production but parts from the original will interchange.

It's sold. A friend was looking for an action to make a black powder match rifle.
I am keeping the Unertl.
