Just doing some thinking (dreaming) about my next rifle which I envision being a .375. As to scope rings I am leaning toward quality quick detachables. Which are best, Talleys or Warnes? Or, is this really a "Chevy vs Ford" question? I have zero experience with quick detachable rings. I have experience with regular Warne rings on two rifles and I am pleased with them, but no experience with Talley products. Thanks for the replies.

A downside to the Warne QRs is that the recoil lugs are small and since they aren't attached to the bases, they are easy to drop and lose when you swap scopes. As much as I have concerns about the Leupld QR levers being too fragile, there isn't anything to lose in that design.

I use a bunch of Warne QR ring sets and I don't experience that problem.

When the screws that hold the ring halves together are tight the lugs are captured. This is independent of the QR lever position as well.

The Talley's are nicer. Either is perfectly serviceable.

Warne is my favorite and my first choice

I haven't bought any in a while since I ran into some bum sets. They had undersize and/or out of round holes for the scope tube, or vertical offset between ring halves.

Hello.

Were I to make up a .375 it would be a .375 Ruger on a Brno ZG47 and Alaskaarmsllc detachable mounts.

The best of everything with a slightly wider magazine...sometimes it is worth the extra effort.

These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Although I like Talley rings, I prefer Warne. I have struggled in setting up the rings on scope tubes for some reason. With Warne, I have had zero issues in set up or removal and reattachment.

Have both and like both. Downside to the Talley's IMO is that the levers can't be indexed AFTER tightening. You have to get the levers lined up the way you want, before tightening. May take a couple tries to do when you originally set them up.

I like the look of the Alaska Arms rings especially those for CZ550's. Levers on the left side instead of right like on the Talley's I have on my CZ550FS.

I have Talley QD's and ran into a problem with setting them up, measured them and found that they are a minimum of 40thou off centre. Spoke to Talley and they confirmed that the rings are machined 20thou off centre, I asked some more questions and they never replied!
Due to being in Australia and stuck with these rings I set them up in my mill and re-cut the dovetail and clamping block. They are now centred.
I personally rather the look of the Talley rings but won't be touching any of their products again.
Set up a mates Howa with Warne's and all good.

I too found this to be the case with Talley QR rings and bases and I also could never get an answer from them as to why they chose to offset the rings like this.
