Just received these pictures yesterday from Tim Cronin @ Elkhorn Precision of my new 7MM-08. Tim does outstanding work and is a hell of a nice guy!! Considered using a couple of great gunsmiths (tough choice sometimes) but went with Tim on this one for his quick turn-around and awesome fit/finish. Specs: Surgeon 591 repeater McMillan Rem Hunter stock Krieger stainless barrel = #5 contour, 1-9 twist, and 22" length Badger M4 bottom metal Jewell trigger tuned to 2# Metal cerakoted in sniper gray with black accents

That one turned out great, should make for an awesome mule deer rifle. Elkhornn does build some nice ones!!
And what's not to like about your caliber choice, bet this isn't your last 7MM-08! You might need to change your screen name now:)
Congrats & good hunting!

Did your parents have any kids that lived
Or are you just the product of long term inbreeding?

Thanks guys!!
Not sure what overall weight will be, but I think Skane is correct..somewhere in the 8-8.5# range without the scope. It should be here next week and I'll weigh it up before I mount my scope.

I had all my parts... turn around was 3 weeks but a lack in parts on another build jumped me forward.....normal turnaround if you have all your parts is 4-6 weeks!!
Tim is a true gentleman.....he is the only one that touches your rifle...no assistants at all!!

Does look like very nice craftsmanship. Always liked the 7-08, just a lot of nice things going for it.
Nice rifle!

Sharp looking rifle! Quality parts for sure. Kind of a 'tweener. Not a heavy barrel but heavier than a sporter. Let us know how you like the weight after you hunt it some.

Not knowing the turrets or reticle on the s&b I'd say nf that sucker. Sounds like a hammer of a deer rifle. I might be a sissy but I can't ever see reaching past a 708 like this for a 300 to shoot a deer with. I bet you will really like it....for a while...grin

With the built in Pic rail, you've room to run the 50mm even on the lowest rings, so I'd runs the NXS.
