Looking for a scope for a tikka 7mm mag. The gun will be used for mule deer, antelope, elk, and general paper punching probably no further than about 800 yards. Budget is under 1000 and would prefer to be under 800 bucks. Brand, power and reticle? Thanks.

Swfa fixed power or the 3-15x42 model.
Bushnell elite tactical 3-12x44 . I have this scope and really like it for hunting and target shooting.
Both of the above are first focal plane .
Leupold vx-3 4.5-14x40 long range model with 30 mm tube and side focus. I have this model on my varmint rifle in the 3.5-10x50 it does a great job.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I had been looking through the SWFA ss and ss hd scopes as I hear that they have fantastic repeatability. How is the glass on the SWFA? Never seen one in person.

I have a Bushnell Elite 2.5-16 mil-dot or Leupold VXII 3-9 with the LR reticle if you're interested....

I don't have any experience with Swfa scopes . I'm sure someone on here does. I've heard nothing but good things about them especially the HD line.

My choice would be the Zeiss HD5 3-15x50, Euro Optics has them on sale for $699 -it is a lot of hunting scope for the money.
