I'm a big Mauser fan. Have been for a long time. My early Mausers were Belgian FN.

Mauser dates back a very long time into the last of the 1,800's and it came and went, more than once, finally the last time a few years ago. But now a new group of Germans have resurrected it and they are building a current Mauser 98 Double Bridge based on the old design.

Too remember John Rigby in London? According to the NRA Rigby is currently producing the .416 Rigby - again. It's actually the German Mauser 98 produced in Germany currently in new factory works and apparently shipped to Rigby in London under an exclusive. Chambered .416 Rigby.

The price is around $13,000. Double barrel rifles are up in the $39,000 range new. May sound expensive, which it is, but looking over the old Rigby Mauser's here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of the prices here will knock your socks off. Makes the new Mauser Magnum sound like a bargain !!!!!

I know there are some heavy duty collectors around and just curious. How will the new .416 go over and will it affect the old gun prices?

According to the NRA article only 189 of the old .416 Rigby Mauser 98'' were ever sold.

Cool, here's an original (not mine) that made its way to Bill Poole's safari shoot in Phoenix last spring. Big Mauser fan myself and being able to handle this one was memorable!

Mauser and Rigby are both selling the rifle.

Mauser is offering it with both "normal" and "heavy" barrels. The normal would be my pick.
