What scope would you say is the best choice for a 22 mag.I'm thinking of trying the Cabells 22 mag scope with their BDC recticle.

A low powered scope is best I think. 4 power or a 2-7. Everyone has their preferences for which maker. I use Nikons because the glass is clear and and they are a good compromise between price and quality.

Something like this would do. https://www.nikonsportoptics.com/en...rostaff-4x32-rimfire-matte-nikoplex.html

It features 98% light transmission, is fully multi-coated and my fave, has Zero-Reset turrets. It uses a standard crosshair, which they call their Nikoplex reticle.

The parallax setting for these scopes is 50 yd.

I would say the SWFA SS 6x MilQuad would be perfect. The rear focus model goes down to 10 meters, enough mils in the reticle to do most anything and more than enough mils in the erector to do everything one would want to do with a 22 mag.

I generally have 4-12x40s on my heavy barrel rimfires and either 2-7x32s or 3-9x40s on my light/sporter barrel rimfires.

It would be helpful if you would specify what you're going to do with it.

A Leupold 3-9 rimfire model with the adjustable objective covers most bases, looks good, and is a quality product. A little expensive, but worth it in the long run.

For less money, Weaver and Nikon make good rimfire scopes for somewhat less money. Stay away from low-end stuff if at all possible. They'll just disappoint you and give you problems. A scope with a bunch of fancy features and a low price is bound to be crap.

I use a Weaver 40/44 series 6-20x44 ao with a varminter reticle I use it @ low power and it's just as clear as some German glass. And it won't break the bank.

Thanks everyone
It'll go on my H&K 300 for plinking and varmint shooting--in central FLA you usually don't get shots longer than 150yds.

When you get your choice mounted, you'll have to take some pix and show it off.

All the best.

For stalk-and-shoot varmint hunting, I like a Nikon 4X, simple, cheap, and bright with a long eye relief for a variety of positions. NOT a target scope, but who uses .22 WRM for that anyhow? "Sight it in and leave it alone."

Was Mike Armstrong. Got logged off; couldn't log back on. RE-registered my old call sign, Mesa.

That's exactly why I put these on most of my rimfire hunting rifles. Both the 22LR and Mags. The pic below is the 4 power Prostaff rimfire.

This is my Marlin Model 60. I just point and shoot. For sheits and giggles, I loaded the Spot On app onto my android phone. It's fun to play with when you're testing ammunition. Now, it says it's optimized for Nikon scopes, but it works very well with similar scopes from various manufacturers.
