I use the harness style on all my binocs. I thought they were gimmicks for years until I hunted with them. The only way to go.

I bought one for me, my wife, my brother, and two of the guys I hunt with everyone loves them.

FWIW, you can get the Crooked Horn version at Wally World for $15.00.

Whatever version you pick, Cabelas or other, you will love them. I have the Cabelas harness and have worn them at least 25 days hunting this fall. Very comfy. I'll never use the factory necks strap again.

Best $20 I ever spent.

Do it today. Tomorrow there may be a law against it.

I ordered a pair for my brother a few years back. They were at the time made by Crooked Horn for Cabelas.

I like the mad dog version because it has quick release buckles rather than the keyrings or snap buckles. I feel more secure with them. I'll sure never go back to a traditional strap!

I have the Crooked Horn system. I let a buddy take my binos to Alaska and he loved it. I don't know if they are the best harness but they are sure better than the regular strap. Walmart sells them for like $15-$18.

Last summer my PH in Africa had a harness strap for his binocs. We were together about 12 hours a day and I got to see them in use and close up. His glasses were always at the ready. He never had to mind them jumping in and out of the bucky. I came back determined to get a pair for myself.

As I have Steiners which have a flush-mount system for straps, I could not use the Cabelas harness for them (I got one made by Steiner), but I feel in love with the idea so much that I did buy a Cabelas harness for my digital camera which is pretty heavy.

I felt like a genius in September when I was on horseback in the wilderness of Idaho for a week. The horse was going uphill, downhill, jumping, trotting, cantering. Even when I was on foot hiking up and down hill, through snow and over boulders trying to mind my rifle, my binocs and my camera (whichever one I was wearing at the time) always stayed firmly in control and at the ready on my chest. Everyone else either had to keep packing and unpacking their binocs or ended up with with their glasses smashing them in the nose a few times.

The Cabelas model adjusts well and fits very comfortably. I'd give them a thumbs up.

I have had the Cabela's. I now have the IPI Pro Bino Manager. Very nice!

I've got the Cabela's version as well and love them. Definitely worth the money spent. No more tired/sore neck from the neck strap. And, they stay snug against your chest until you need them. Just wish I had come up with the design and had it patented....
