I'd say either....although I don't hunt "whitedeer". Find whichever your rifle like and your set...for life!

For "Whitedeer", go with the 130, for "Blackdeer", I'd go with the 160--just in case.
For all other deer, just use a sharp stick.........

130's work fine for Mulies so they should do well on Whites.

Never used a 140 in the 270. But the last 5 bucks I shot with 130's all died pretty fast.
All the rest did,too.
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

I have two rifles in 270 WIN; I shoot 130 grain Interlock's in one and 140 grain Interlock's in the other - I can see no difference in performance on Whitetail.

60gr 7828ssc with about any 130 c&c(My rifle seems to like Partitions or Grand Slams best)

I don't always shoot Mausers, but when I do...I prefer VZ-24s.

Les,
Consider this:
130gr NBT 60gr H3821sc CCI 200 Win Brass.
I have yet to see a .270 that would not shoot that load well that did not have other issues.
You didn't use logic or reason to get into this opinion, I cannot use logic or reason to get you out of it.

Truly a pick'em
I/we have killed deer with 85gr TSX through 160gr NP.
Easier to list 270 bullets that will not work on deer versus the ones that will.
With that being said, I simplified a few years back and always have 4 loads ready to go for any new 270 that finds it's way to my house.
All Win brass, WLRM primer, 60gr H4831sc.
130gr NBT 130gr GMX 130gr TSX 130gr TTSX
it is rare to find a rifle that will not shoot one of those loads 1-1.25"
