When I say daughter's, I do mean plural. I've twin daughters that got to draw their 1st tags here in CO for the 3rd season. Buck tags. To say it was an eventful and fun hunt, is an understatement. I hunted 2nd season elsewhere in the state and took my best buck, but this trip was 100 times more fun. We hunted hard all week as time permitted due to school and BBall. Opening morning my 1 daughter missed a buck that would have made any hunter proud, but she shrugged it off in short order and kept a great attitude. Sunday was the last day of the season and bucks were really hard to come by. Luckily I was able to glass this buck up, in full rut mode. He was chasing 2 does around. I got my daughters set up in the shooting sticks, gave them last second guidance on where to shoot. I told them that after the daughter who didn't get to shoot on Sat. took her shot, that if he was still on his feet, for either of them to take a shot. My first daughter shot and it was a solid hit behind the shoulder. He stuttered stepped and turned to go down hill. He stopped after a couple steps and my second daughter shot with another solid hit. I did not see him fall as I jerked a little at the second shot. However, we made it up the ridge in short order and this is as he layed. Both girls hit tight behind the shoulders like we practiced all summer. I'm a pretty dang proud dad today. My whole family was on the hunt. I'll let some photo's tell the rest of the story.
Shut up and hunt!

Kelk, That's raising them properly! Congratulations to your daughters on their success, but also to a family doing things together. memtb

Gents,
Thanks for all the kind words and congrats. It was a hunt I will always remember, and the most rewarding I've been on. All 3 of my kids are already asking what the plan is for next year and I just barely put the last package of meat off their buck in the freezer last night!
Shut up and hunt!
