Saddlesore, that's a whole lot easier to believe. At least for me!

The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.

Phooey. So much tripe about bullets. Just load up some partitions and you will have expansion and penetraion. What else do you need. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I used Bronze points on only one whitetail, the 150 gr. going 2800 fps out of a .308, shot the deer at about 50 yds. The bullet killed the deer, but didn't even make it to the far side ribs from broadside. I never found anything of that bullet, it just completely fragmented in about 6". Quit using them. In my opinion, the only thing worse than a too-fragile bullet is bullets with full metal jackets or real heavy, tough bullets pushed too slow. I agree with most of the previous posts - use a good standard bullet and you'll do better than the bronze points.

Those things are 1960's tech. I'd rather use military ball ammo.

Over the years I shot a variety of them and the problem both I and others had was inconsistent performance. Some would blow up easily and others would just punch through without any evidence of opening at all. There are much better designs out there now for game but they are generally very accurate if you are just punching paper.
