Marlin 1895 45/70 JM stamped with a Leupold M8 EIR 2.5x28 with a XS lever scout mounting system that is in very nice condition. One scuff near the butt pad. Less than 20 rounds down the tube and one of them took a Bull Buffalo.

Is the barrel drilled for the mount or only using front site spot? Ported? Trades?

The scope mounting bracket uses the rear sight notch to be secured along with the front base holes. The rifle is not ported. At this time I am not interested in trades. Trying to thin out what I have. Sitting real good on guns and optics at the moment
Only selling because this has been sitting in the guns safe for the past 5 years collecting dust. To nice of a rifle and shooter not to be used. This is a very accurate 45-70.

Shoots very well at 100 yards. I have shot both cast bullets and jacketed bullets. I did not shoot the rifle much but it always grouped inside of the 4" bullseye on the target. I took a cow Buffalo at 100 yards hitting her in the center of the neck which is a tough shot on a buffalo.

I've got a twin to this rifle and it shoots ez 1.5" groups w/several recipes at 100. They're a blast to shoot and its just as accurate using enjoyable trapdoor data as it is using full powerhouse stuff! Its a really flexible cartridge. Everyone should have a pumpkin lobber!
