Had my eye on a .260rem in a Ruger MKII! It has the older style concave synthetic stock. Can anyone tell me how much one of these weights? Thanks CD

If it feels good in your arms, the weights about right, if it feels too heavy, it's too heavy. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I believe they run about 7#'s

I have had one for a few years and killed several deer with it and a coyote or two. I like the old 'boat paddle' stock-most don't. Yeah it probaly weighs around 7#. I have never weighed it-it is not a super lightweight. Mine shoots good and I like the round a lot.
The 6.5s have the best combination of sd, bc, ranging, and recoil of any common caliber. The .260 is just an americanized 6.5 Swede that will fit in a short action. Plateau Hunter

eight pounds eight ounces with an old Weaver steel tube 2.5 - 7 x 32 in the Ruger rings and a nylon sling.
I actually would like to find a heavier laminate stock to go on mine as it stings the shoulder a bit with 120 gr bullets loaded near 3000 fps. Of course a good part of that is due to the crappy recoil pad Ruger installs at the factory.
All in all, I like the boat paddle all weather 260 enough that I just purchased a second one to give my son for Christmas.

You found one I would like to have! I have one in .308 and it's the best shooting rifle I have. I shortened the barrel down to 19", added walnut inserts from an old tree off of my property and added the buttcuff. If I had to chose from all of my rifles and just pick one, this would be it.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.
