1) Mostly for coons, I put cat food in a have-a-heart trap.
When the trap goes off, I shoot it in the top of the head with a CCI CB short from a rifle with a 24" barrel. Sounds like a BB gun. The wife, quietly working a jigsaw puzzle, will not hear a thing.
2) Sometimes when a coon in the top of a tree, I shoot it with body shots until it falls.

I love shooting . 22shorts out of my field master rifle. I have to agree with it sounding like a BB gun....

For Ingwe, this is what the 70 gr Sierra BK did at about 83 yds. Could not see the body,so held just under the chin.

Had it loaded with 44 spl. cases, 8 grain of Unique and a 210 gr. Rem. HP. First two shots were side buy side, but low.. I squeezed off one more and to my surprise, and I am sure his, drilled him though the chest for and instant kill.. Kate brought him back.. Paced it off at 136 steps.. One of my best shots..

Wyo,

that pic is food for the soul--and with a 4 inch Smith, no less. great job! when a fella can do that, the Swift just has to go to it's room to sulk...

back in the mid 80s, the 4 inch 629's were my favorite rigs by far...

I just got him!
I have been after this guy for days.
He can set off the have a heart trap, and squeeze out while I am getting a rifle.

I was too fast this time.

Clark you need some colored folks and rednecks with hounds around your place. I've never seen anyone have as many coons as you kill in one place. Nice job on the rat by the way.
