Because why again? I saw a post here not too long ago about Progressive Insurance Company putting money toward some anti gun and pro liberal weenie causes and sites. BUT, when I confronted The folks at Progressive about this matter when they asked me why I was leaving (Sherri and I DO, in fact, refuse to deal with companies like Levi Strauss, Target and others who offend or counter our values with thier spending and donations) an insurance company who had dealt very fairly with me on a couple of claims. And, she provided me with this statement:
Peter B. Lewis, who passed away in November of 2013, retired from Progressive as President and Chief Executive Officer in the year 2000. From his retirement until his passing, he was the non-executive Chairman of the Board of the Progressive Corporation, during which time he neither worked for Progressive, nor was active in the day-to-day management of the company. Peter’s support of any initiatives was purely a personal choice and does not reflect an opinion or belief held by The Progressive Corporation.
Progressive's 25,000 employees—who represent a broad spectrum of political, social and religious affiliations—drive our corporate giving through matching funds provided by The Progressive Foundation. Progressive really DOES offer an excellent program and policy for owners of motorcycles, RV's etc. and it can be very hard to replicate the entire package.

Bullscheit, your rep lied. I happen to have a GOOD friend that worked for Progressive for several + years after Lewis's retirement. This is one of the most Liberal companies out there and they treat their employees like total crap. They do however send many gay rights emails to employees and have continued to support the liberal agenda all they can. Fuggem..

Look at their political contributions...

Even liberal Snopes seems to think the things circulating about Progressive are pretty spot on. Confirmed. http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/peterlewis.asp

Not what the link said at all. It stated that Lewis has not run Progressive for 15 yrs. and while he PERSONALLY contributed to some liberal entities, it also plainly states that the company has contributed to numerous NON-POLITICAL charities. What they actually said is that the report is of mixed veracity but completely outdated. A pretty good stretch from "spot on" and "confirmed". John

John Well John, The guy made billions with Progressive Ins. He then funded the socialistic organizations mentioned with his profits. Whether the facts are outdated or not, they are still facts. (Even if liberals like to paint history a different way, to suit their agenda.) Another "Fact" is that I will never, ever send that company dime one. For anything. Decided that long ago. While my decision to not give them my business may be outdated, it's still my decision.

People here still buy Patagonia clothing and Yvon Chouinard is easily identifiable as a contributor to Earth First! and other anti hunting entities. When someone likes something, it is easy to forget all the connections even if it is negative, just as long as they are comfortable...

Which insurance would you recommend we go with? How old are you anyway? One word: "annuities."
