Howled this 32 lb. male coyote in tonight. Shot him in the neck with a CZ .22 Hornet. 45 grain Sierra with 12.5 grains of lil gun powder.

Gonzaga Im in love that little rifle lol. It's an honest 3/8 to 1/2 inch @ 100 with that load I mentioned earlier or I'll give you the rifle. It's a joy to carry at night also because I do a lot of walking and its not as heavy as some I've carried over the years. Now if I can only call up and kill me a Mt. Lion like some people, my quest would be over grin!

You ever make it out this way, we can give it a shot......there's plenty around, and only the game and fish like them darn kitty cats.

I've been kicking the idea of getting that same exact rifle

Thanks for the offer! I might take you up on that sometime. It's been 2 years since I've been to New Mexico so I'm about due a trip. You get you one of these CZ hornets and you will really like it. It's cheap to reload for and just a pleasure to shoot. I might get me the CZ American version one of these days so I can have 2 of them...lol

Never been to Whittington center. You are farther north to where I usually hunt in NM. I've hunted from Lovington to Las Cruces and some over near Gila. That's some good looking country up near Raton. Yes Sir I agree, a Hornet is definitely a great way to start the new year!

This warm weather is really screwing up me getting my full snare line out. The way it's looking I won't be able to get the whole thing out until January 1st. The few snares I'm running have seen little action with this warm weather. Managed to get this little muddy female today. Favorite snare set is beside a bank. Makes for quick dispatch and still makes the set reuseable.

Nice catch Laker.

I've had a little less than 2 dozen snares out for a couple weeks now, things have been slow. Snowing in town right now so maybe things will pick up and I'll be able to get some more snares set.

Laker, that is a different coyote, but that same 6mm still is too clean.
I happen to know a rifle can get dirty in MT.
