Hello all, Long time lurker just now introducing myself. My name is Gary Music, I'm an aspiring knife maker influenced by knife makers old and new. Took an interest in Rick and Dale's knives here lately and have tried making a few similar to theirs. I've only made a handful of knives and I'm still establishing my niche. I forge and do stock removal blades, heat treat and Rockwell test my own stuff. Here's a look at my latest work............I hope you enjoy, comments welcome and encouraged. Please take a minute and look at my website and let me what you think of that as well..... 52100 carbon steel @ 60rc S35V @ 61rc S30V @61 rc

They look pretty darned nice to me Mr. Music. My only knife made from 52100 was made by Mr.John Lloyd. I carry it every day & I have grown fond of that steel. Rick Menefee Made knives might well be the toughest act to follow, however this forum features some other fantastic blade smiths as well. Too many of them to mention, but most of them reside in Oklahoma. Good luck to you Sir!

Both your knives and website look nice to me. I would add a little info and maybe a few pics of your sheaths as well, just a suggestion. I would also check out the rest of the forums here and post a little, it helps if we get to know you.

Thanks troutfisher.....! I don't use leather unless someone requests it, Kydex is indestructible, easy to care for and cheap! Saves a guy 30-70 bucks on a purchase. I've mainly stuck to the knife threads here while lurking about, but I will expand my viewing..........it's a great website! Thanks again!

Welcome Gary. I'd say your knives look like the real deal. Thanks Mannlicher! I have a model 52 30-06 double set trigger with a quick release scope, awesome rifle! My personal skinner performed very well this fall. I was tickled with it! Thanks again!

Mr. Dowell, thank you very much! My hat's gunna fit a little tight for the next day or two after the comments from you Rick and Dale. The next time I step up to that grinder it'll shrink back down..........
