I have a Remington 660 and a 700 and haven't sent either of them in. But then I like the Walker trigger and have always had good luck with them.

From the article you linked: While insisting its action is not a recall of the iconic gun, Remington says in a statement that it is agreeing to make the changes "to avoid the uncertainties and expense of protracted litigation."
So if you asked Remington, it appears the answer would be no, they're not recalling them.

I too bought a Timney and had my Gunsmith install it and set it perfectly for me. My Rem 700 25-06 is a like a new "custom" rifle. My hunting buddy did the same with his 270 Rem 700 and was also quite pleased with the Timney upgrade. I may have him install a Timney on another rifle I own that has a rough trigger.

Had a M700 .308 Win with a Walker trigger, purchased used, and sent it in for the fix. It was extremely accurate abut very hard on brass. I sold it.

Who wants to buy a new rifle and then have to throw $140 at it just to get the "trendy" trigger.
I had two rifles last year with X-mark Pro triggers. I sent the triggers ONLY back to Remington and they sent me new ones. Couldn't tell any difference in pull consistency. I set them where the owners wanted them and they seemed certainly adequate to me. The screws barely were noticeable. I filled the void around the edge of screws with inspection lacquer and they were good to go.
I have Timneys, Shilens and Rifle Basix triggers. None are perfect and all are expensive.

Replaced an Xmark with a Timney and had a Walker worked over. Still have a couple to upgrade. I WILL NOT send them in.

Timney, Bartlein....mine's G2G if the bolt handle holds...
And lest you ask - yes, happened before.
A T3 and S2 would negate any concern.....out the box.

Remington did a limited recall on some of the 600 series many years ago with the Walker trigger. The current recall is just for the Xmark Trigger. There is something in the works to either recall or offer a settlement on all of the older Walker triggers. This is yet to be determined last I heard.

A Timney is on the menu for my own recall.
