I have an opinion (and that's all it is); but, I don't want to share it. I'm afraid Big Stick will come along and tell everybody how dumb I am and reveal the fact I've never done anything but sit on the couch and lick windows.

.308 - adequate for squirrels, chipmunks and the occasional rabbit.

10 ga - suitable for upland birds and rousing bouts of sporting clays.

.460 - absolute bottom end for whitetails, antelope and, in a pinch, muleys.

I have them all. The .308 and .460 shoot bugholes at 500 yards, which I do with boring regularity. Most clubs won't let me bring the scatter gun anymore because I've had too many perfect rounds with it. Birds die when I rest it on my shoulder.

If I had to pick just one, it would be a crime against the shooting sports.

I'll take the ten for anything under 50; the 308 for 50 and out; and the 460 for the mechanized stuff :-)

308= 150gr at 2800fps. 10ga= 656gr at 1500fps. 460= to damn much

Are you loading for that Mk V? I had one like that, got rid of it and have a 550 action here for a 23" 460 I am screwing together. Was thinking of doing a 450 Rigby but chickened out.
