There is one of these for sale locally. I have never heard of such a combination, and tend to believe it is a Classic Stainless with a Sporter walnut stock substituted for the synthetic stock. Anyone heard of such a rifle as factory production?

Yes sir, I almost bought one locally here in PA a few months ago. Seller changed his mind unfortunately. I'm not sure which stock from factory was included, the one I looked at had an aftermarket stock.

They came with synthetic stocks. I almost bought one in 1999. A very good rifle and great cartridge. Excellent combination..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

They came with synthetic stocks. I almost bought one in 1999. A very good rifle and great cartridge. Excellent combination.. I've always liked those Stainless Classic 300 Wby's. Awesome cartridge in a solid rifle. Put in a good stock they'd be a solid hunting rifle.

I have a take of barrel marked classic stainless. Chambered in 300 why. So it is a factory chamfering...
