Was wondering what grain you use in your model sevens in 308 ? I might be getting a new stainless model seven and don't reload but I like Nosler partitions and cant decide on Federal 150 or 180 Will be used mostly for PA whitetail and one day a year for PA bear

My brother had one of the wood stocked versions with the thin short barrel when they first came out. His rifle liked 150s the best. That was one rifle I hated to shoot. Kicked like an angry mule.

Got a SS pre-j lock Seven in .308 and it shoots Hornaday 150gr. Interlocks better than it ought to. Shoots them so well in fact, I've never seriously tried anything else.

Rmart, Amer. Whitetail. Of the two deer I've shot with them, one was an 8pt just under 200 lbs. that dropped to his chest and plowed several feet before falling dead and the other was slightly smaller buck that dropped like a bus hit it. First deer was shot with a Rem. Seven, second with a .308 pre-64 Win. Fwt.

If you want to PM me a phone no. I can text you a couple of pics of the bullet removed from the larger buck. It penetrated fully and stopped against the hide on the far side. The core had separated somewhat from the copper but was right there with it.

I just bought a Remington model 660. This is the first .308 I've ever owned. I want to like 165 grain bullets but I haven't played with it enough yet to find a load for it.

I have two of the current production SS model 7s in 308 and both have 1 in 10" tubes. They group just fine with 150s but I've had the best luck with acubond 165s and 180s over 45 grains of varget.
