Happy Holidays to my northern friends! I have a question about HH rain gear prices. Is $56 a good price for the long Impertech coat? How about $30 for the waist high pants? Both in RT max 4 camo. Thanks

Tom, Here's a recent thread where some gave opinions of HH rain gear.

Whoops, I re-read your question. Yup, that's a great price.

I typically use Impertech to hunt, both spring and fall. It works pretty well, isn't so heavy that I sweat to death and dries somewhat overnight in a tent vestibule or hung under a spruce tree. There are lighter options, drier options, more & less expensive options and there are more durable options available. However, when taking everything into consideration Impertech is pretty good stuff for a lot of hunting.

Less than $90 for the guide coat and pants is a pretty good price. I prefer the bibs, but the pants are easy on and off so occasionally I use them too.

I've owned several sets of Impertech and only sliding down a Devil's Club covered hill onto shale scree kept it from being "totally waterproof". grin

Good stuff.

It'd be fine for that. I trash em in a season, and that's a lot longer than 10 days. The tougher normal commercial fishing bibs will last forever.. they are just stiffer and louder.

When Impertecs "go", they crack. You'll get small cracks up and down the legs, and they aren't waterproof anymore. Not sure if it's the saltwater that does it, or the UV rays. But, I've gone through quite a few pairs. The pants with the drawstrings suck too.. well, the drawstring does. No belt loops, and the drawstring pulls out easily.

its not the salt water cause the small cracks on the pants happened to mine here in NY. They lasted a few years so I will replace them

Impertech is polyurethane, but suffers the ravages of UV as well.

Anyone local here who needs a set B&Js is having a Christmas sale and their HH stuff is %45 off. I think Grundens is marked down 35 or 40 percent as well.
