LSU... Possibly???? But where are the prognosticators pickin' Looieville 30 over Rutgers. Nobody has had an answer for Ray Rice yet... He ain't gettin' no Heisman, bein' from UP NORTH! Nice young man, with a classy no BS humble interview after the game Thu night past! I'm pickin' against Clarett U.

If somehow Rutgers runs the table and finishes undefeated, someone please explain to me how/why Rice does not deserve the Heisman?
There simply is no single player on any team that makes as much difference in the Win/Loss column as Rice does to Rutgers. Every team that faces them knows that they have to stop Rice, and none has yet. If none does by the end of the year, is he not the best athlete in college football?
Granted, that kid at OSU is damned good, but so is the whole team. Rice IS the Rutgers offense, period.

Prove it on the field first, then prove it with talk. Those with one loss should not be ranked ahead of those with no losses, regardless of what conference, schedule, whatever.
If thats the case then every team should strive for the easiest schedule possible. Maybe LSU can move to the Sun Belt and go undefeated every year. As long as there isn't a playoff and we have to live by the polls and strength of schedule has to be considered.

Here's a question for everyone that follows Rutgers (I haven't seen them play this year). Do you honestly believe they would have a shot at beating Ohio St or Michigan? Not knocking, just asking. If an undefeated Rutgers gets blown out by the Buckeyes by 4 touchdowns in the title game, how does that impact the BCS system?

Maybe 9th or 10th spot LSU. Where do you place them?? Exactly what I'm thinking.

Yeah, Rutgers has a chance of beating either of those two teams. Any given game day, anything can happen.
As for the "move to the SunBelt", go ahead. If they did, right now, they'd NEVER get a title shot.
I laid out my scenario for a playoff system, and it would very easily work. And, it make lead to a little realignment of conferences, giving a little more parity to the NCAA Div. 1-A set-up.
And this would be a bad thing, how?

Mine (although honestly on the top 10 means anything) This is the current cream of the crop: 1: OSU 2: UofM 3: Florida
(I think there is a huge drop-off here and you can put 4-7 in a barrell and they are all about the same)
4: Notre Dame 5: USC 6: Ark 7: LSU (Not so much drop off here, but they lost to AU and UF...but the QB play today is much better than then...they'd likely beat UF today)
Another drop-off
8: Rutgers 9(a): WVU 9(b): Louisville 10 ?
I can't REALLY come up with a #10...and its for these reasons: No team today is the same team as they were 10 weeks ago (see Ark. for example and example of a hugely improved team) and (see Tennessee & Auburn for examples of a beat up wounded teams that have played their best games and are not playing well now), and some teams today are not the same team as they were a week ago (see TX minus Colt McCoy) and finally (see USC for a good team that is not improving enough to be a great team)
Who deserves that 10th spot? Id give it to Boisie St, but they wouldn't beat anybody above them IMO.
TX with Colt McCoy was my #3. Auburn has played at a top 5 level, but looked like an unranked team yesterday. LSU is putting it all together now and getting solid QB play, and with that they could beat ANYBODY today. Florida, showed some weaknesses yesterday. WF, Ga Tech, Wisc, Oklahoma, Nebraska, are all good teams too...capable of upsetting most anybody in the Top 10

The BCS rankings are done 2/3 people combined with 1/3 computer, right? Maybe reversed but, having said that, after last nights game ARK could surprise with a number 4 ranking.Fla showed huge weakness and I don't consider them the "cream" of the crop. As you said, LSU would beat them today.People keep suggesting huge drops, speed bumps etc. with the big east but I ain't buying it. I'd like to see how any one will stop Rice or the Slaton/White combo. Also, I don't think a brick wall could stop McFadden! If Rutgers bitch slaps WVU, they should move to number 2 next Sunday!!

Hey Les--I have some great news for you. I'm predicting OSU handles Mich with a solid win in regulation play. Call your bookies fellas!!!

And this would be a bad thing, how? Yeah any team can win any day. I guess I should have said, what do you think the line out of Vegas would be or if OSU and Rutgers played 10 times what would be the outcome. Is Rutgers really at the same level or have they been playing over their head and against weak competition? My Sun Belt conference comment was just directed at you saying that strength of schedule shouldn't matter. The fact is it does matter, thats why 1 loss teams from the Big 11, Big 12, SEC, etc are ranked ahead of undefeated mid majors I'm in favor of a playoff system but probably a smaller one than you outlined. Maybe 8 teams. Otherwise they need to shorten the regular season. These kids don't need to be playing 16 game seasons. I do agree with the realignment of conferences. Would love to see 6 12-team conferences and either all of them have a conf. championship game or none of them do. Thats whether we're in a playoff system or the current BCS system.

Here's THE AP TOP 25 for now gang The Top 25 teams in The Associated Press college football poll, with first-place votes in parentheses, records through Nov. 11, total points based on 25 points for a first-place vote through one point for a 25th-place vote, and previous ranking: Record Pts Pvs 1. Ohio St. (64) 11-0 1,624 1 2. Michigan (1) 11-0 1,561 2 3. Florida 9-1 1,436 6 4. Southern Cal 8-1 1,433 7 5. Arkansas 9-1 1,331 11 6. Notre Dame 9-1 1,302 9 7. Rutgers 9-0 1,212 15 8. Some think like you and never forget that game 10 weeks ago, then some are intelligent enough to see Ark play and know that aint the same team that got throttled by USC, nor is USC as good in week 10 as it was in the first 3 weeks. Ark is running the ball with authority, using some great play calling, and playing great Def. They're as deserving as any 1 loss team.

But you called it right. 100 points separate the two. Wasn't the same team that played USC in September. McFadden only carried 9 times while still suffering from a July dislocated toe and one other star player, I believe, was out. It was a drubbing no doubt, but not against the same ARK team on the field today. IMO

Which is why we need a friggin' playoff system.
Week 1 in the NFL means squat by Week 16, and once the playoffs start, it's a whole new season.
College basketball at the D-1A level is like that, and EVER other college sport at EVERY other level is like that.
But THE college game? Nope, not yet.

Hey Sean--You and 280 think of the best way to get it to an 8 team playoff and not increase the season by more than 2 more weeks and I'm sold. There is a mess each year, but it's beyond debate anymore save for the college's money of course.
