Trying to help out a friend in a tight spot. He's moving soon, and needs rid of this car to pay expenses. I want to get it sold for him, but I don't want to get screwed either.

This is the info I have.

1939 Desoto 4 Door
Motor and trans are from a 1969 Camaro.
Runs when you pour gas in her, but needs a fuel pump.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I want to get him some cash, but I don't want to just dump it cheap.

It's just a shell for a project. I'm thinking $2500 ish.

Judging from the pics, along with your brief description, I'd say you'll be lucky to get 1K, maybe $800...

Is the upholstery new? That front seat looks like a beginners homemade project.

There are some really CLUELESS posts being tossed your way, as to what this apparently RUST FREE "shell" will bring in today's HOT street rod market.

Park that thing in front of the "Diner" in Sierra Vista, Az. on the Thursday "Hot Rod Brunch" day,....or at a "Cars in the Park" event, and you'll be hitchin' a ride home with 3-4 K in pocket EASY.

I see these things changing hands almost DAILY, and can tell you that he's got a winner there.

I'd like to get something like that for my wife.
She's always looking at old trucks and cars on the web and talking about pulling one out of the trees and fixing it up.

Not any Motorheads first choice for a street rod ,rat rod.It might be clean,but coupes sell.

The telepathic among us can tell from those photos that it's a rust free car. LOL. If it is great, but you can't tell that from those photos!

Check the STEERING COLUMN,.....we don't know diddly about the quality of the graft,....but that thing's likely sporting a Camaro front sub.

Yep, too many doors to get top dollar, but it's still damn cool looking and someone would love to have it.

The hot thing now is Patina. That relic exudes it! What detracts is the GM driveline, needs to be MoPar.

'39 was a good year. My dad's '39 Buick lasted until '49.

They have quite a few De Soto's to get an estimate...

Upload photo's and info and set price at $6,500 then sit back and see what happens.

Doesn't matter what you think its worth or what you might get from the right buyer.

Figure out what you need for it, and put it up for sell.
