Yeah, but are they gonna send junk mail?? 'Cause I'll get on internet boards and call for the revolution. I'll tell people they ought to be willing to die for their freedom. I'll celebrate all those heroes who put it on the line to protect our country and our rights, but I'll be dammmed if I'm gonna tolerate some junk mail and a couple robo calls just to protect my gun rights.
Pardon me while I go stand in line for two hours at the gun show and spend $200 on 4 bricks of 22 LR and buy me one of those $1500 Colt AR's. I didn't have the $35 for a NRA membership anyway. Too danged expensive......

I bumped my wife up to Life Member. For the cost ($500) of another gun I don't need right now, I think it is a worthwhile thing to do.
And I feel that I am doing it for my grandchildren, so that they can hopefully enjoy most of the same gun rights that have been an important part of my life.

I have been told that if one doesn't want the junkmail that you can request to be taken off that mailing list and still be a member in good standing.
If so, then the junkmail issue shouldn't keep anyone from being a member.
I do think that some free-loaders use that as an excuse not to join the NRA.
