Well, after getting skunked on blakcpowder elk here in WA, I'm heading home to Kentucky on Thursday, and will be hunting whitetails with my brother-in-law and my best friend back there (two different properties). I'm taking my Ruger #1 RSI 7x57, and also my new Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt (4 5/8").

Mainly going to be rifle hunting ... but I can take one buck and one antlerless on my license, so if I get one with the rifle, I think I'll still-hunt with the handgun for the other. Looking forward to it ... my shooting until the last year has almost all been handgun, and I'm comfortable with this gun out to 50 or 60 yards. Been shooting some of the Corbon and Buffalo Bore loads, as I haven't had time to work up a load of my own yet.

We'll see if I have any better luck than I did with the elk! I hope so ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
