For all you 'rough-around-the-edges' muy macho types, Honda is introducing the new 2017 Ridgeline as a civilized option to the other small trucks. Better get your deposits in now or you won't be the first to show it off at Starbucks.... Ridgeline Article

from the article: It will be the only pickup sold in the U.S. with front-wheel drive Who the heck wants a front wheel drive pickup? When you put a load on it, you want the traction under the load. This thing is just another VW Rabbit pickup.

That would suit the needs of the majority of people that own a pick-up in the first place.
Not mine, though.

It is what it is and doesn't pretend it is anything different. Not for me,but would suit a lot of peoples needs.
They've been around for a while, nothing new here, just an updated version.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

I've thought about getting a smaller pickup - maybe an older Ranger, as something to carry light loads when I need it - but a front wheel drive? Even with the 4 wheel drive option that's gonna be a pain.

Looks like the DPF on my diesel gave birth to an illegitamate child! It's like parking a Honda Shadow in front of a biker bar. It will work great for any man on the way for a spa treatment and manicure.

My neighbor has one, it hauls a guitar or a bag of golf clubs. He loves it.

I'm sure they'll have a 4wd and Honda isn't known for making junk.

Wouldn't surprise me if in a few years Honda isn't making the best pickup on the market. Honda seem to make a habit of being on top whatever the product.

For most suburbanites, etc, the front wheel drive pickup is just fine. With a 4wd option it should be a great ride, even if it isn't crossing three foot rivers in the Sawtooths. I use the tar out of my Toyotas--Tundra, etc, but many guys don't scratch the surface for real use of their pickup anyway. My neighbor has an older Ridgeline and it hasn't cost him a dime, and we live in rough-arsed country here.

My boss has a 2014 or 2015 Ridgeline and it's a pretty nice rig for him, I can see the appeal. I've driven it a bit and ridden many miles in it; comfortable, peppy and quite capable for all we do with it as far as hauling plywood, 2x4's etc. I don't think my climbing stand, duffle and a couple coolers would fit in the bed though and holy crap, what if I killed a deer, where would you stuff it? (in the coolers of course)
