It would be nice to know that Jeffy was no longer the socialist he proved himself to be before and that maybe his children are smarter than he was... Leopards and spots.

Sounds like a great chance to spend some quality time with a loved one. My daughter, son and I are in the process of training our 5 month old GSP. Anytime spent with our children as they get older is time well spent. Enjoy "teaching" your daughter the sport of bird hunting over a dog. Looks like your kids are going to turn out great IN SPITE of you. This is the little gem you posted about my kids....prrick. Never mind I see BLG is from NO,LA. His children's retardation is obviously a product of incest. I made it my sig line for "posterity" Clyde

I do not argue politics anymore. I do not FOLLOW politics anymore. I sucked at it anyway <g>. I'm done with that [bleep]. I did not vote for Obama in 2012. I voted for the party who's platform most closely aligns with my personal bitches' brew of politics, which is Libertarian. I will be following that path for the foreseeable future. I cannot abide either the Democratic or Republucan party platforms. DocRocket, I'd say I got 90-something percent of the way back. It was a doozy. From there, it's about compensation and adaption and MOVING FORWARDS. If you have a patient so stricken, I found highly aerobic exercise to be a huge benefit in alleviating the anxiety, depression, and PTSD symptoms. Thanks for well wishes from those who sent them. I'm not hanging around for the beat down. Enjoy---
The CENTER will hold.

Sorry Jeff.
You're no more a libertarian then you were a middle of the road moderate when you used to claim such.
You're a liberal - just own it.

I hope your daughter gets her concealed carry and protects herself for the rest of her life, but if your not part of the solution, your part of the problem.

Abso-freakin'-LUTELY! If I got a dog with the intent to do gun sports with it (quail or pheasant hunting, that sort of thing) would you wanna go with me while I get the hang of bird hunting and dog and I figure it out? She's in college and has done a good job of getting some separation. No failure to launch here.... I miss her and am always trying to find ways to get quality time, but it's really hard at this age, as some other parents here likely can attest. She's always been "gunny" and a good shot with a .22, .223, and my 7-08. She's a fierce 2A supporter which has gotten her into some very interesting debates in college where the PC line is, of course, that they are pure eeeevil. I told her I'd buy her a shotgun. I think a 20-ga O/U will be about right. Her getting a dog is a whole separate issue but she's got the "need something little to care for" young female thing going BAD and has a job, so if that's how she wants to spend her money.... beats a baby, that's for sure. Best text I've gotten in a while! The biggest mistake made by folks trying to help a new shotgun shooter, especially a female or adolescent, is to start them with a gun that delivers too much recoil.

SxS is classier. Sounds like a great girl. Got a couple myself. Good on us! I have a 20 ga. SxS. It's a cheap Savage/Stevens but it has killed a ton of quail and pheasants. I currently have a Franchi over/under. I would highly recommend one in 20 ga. Good luck on your choice Jeff. What ever you decide I'm sure your daughter will approve. kwg

He also supports spiking trees. He supports a lot of off the wall boolschitt...I'm skeptical that he ever received a text from his daughter saying the schitt he posted...he's probably still CON-cussed...

You want a newbie to have success. Success means being able to hit what she's shooting at and being able to do it comfortably. A big shot payload is key and gas operation is key.

A 28 ga is easy to use and will not deliver much recoil. Furthermore, she does not have to be "stout enough" to use a 28 ga. I used a 28 ga (Rem 870) on dove and it was a pleasure to use. Only draw back is that 28 ga shotshells are expensive.
