I wasn't that lucky two falls ago Ryan. My son and I were heading for western South Dakota to do some deer hunting when I whacked a four-point with my old 2003 half-ton Dodge pickup. We saw the buck coming up out of the ditch for a couple bounds so were probably going about the same speed as you indicated when contact was made. The buck pushed everything to the motor, took out the front quarter and the passenger door totaling out the truck.

Heck of a way to start a hunt....

Ryan, I think the Fords are tougher. All the deer I've hit have been with Fords and the damage was minimal.

The first one ran out from between two buildings in Poplar,WI smack into the side of my 1979 Bronco. It just left a small dent in the Bronco and a large dent in the deer.

One hit it's face in the grill of a 2000 F-150. It took out the grill and the deer's face.

A herd crossed in front of me one Valentines Day and instead of hitting 9 or 10, I was lucky enough to hit one that decided to crouch down and I drove over the top of it. that one damaged the bumper, the front valance thingy, and caused a bunch of parts underneath the truck to be a hairy, slimy, gooey mess.

The MN deer appear to be smarter as well because all the deers I've hit have been cheese head deer.

Kind of depends (completely) on how you hit them.

I smacked a little buck with an F350, I was probably doing 70. little thunk from the front and some tumble noises under and out the back. There was hair stuck in the shock mounts under the truck but I couldn't find anything wrong up front.

It doesn't always go that way though, I have hit plenty, my worse was with our old red f150, I think that truck was an 07. Anyways, that deer wanted to be in the radiator really bad. She did a real good job of it.

Truck was still drivable, crunched a lot of stuff up front, took out the AC condenser but the radiator was fine and the lights still functioned although they were broken on the back side where they attach.

it was shortly after meeting me!

in all seriousness I was very lucky the damage was minimal, I never noticed a thing actually until I went to turn a corner and the tire rubbed a little on the bumper. upon closer inspection I wiggled the light and saw it was loose. when I pulled up infront of the garage is when I noticed one was out.

We have been hit with a winter storm. Probably by "up nort" standards it is just another day but everything screeches to a halt here. We have about an inch of ice on the roads. You guys up there have that in July.
There is NO beer, bread or milk in any store within 50 miles.
The gun shop closed at 2PM and we came home.
I think tomorrow looks like a "PJ ALL DAY" kind of happening.

Ouch!!

An inch of ice on the roads, anywhere, is horrible.

So is no beer.

Good luck.....

Thanks guys.

I'll explain.

Pam lost her father to cancer last Friday, we have been busy with that leading up to Friday and since have been busy with family stuff.

We are back home (our home) for a couple of nights then we are headed back to Pam's family's home for family service and funeral Tuesday/Wed this week.

Of course it doesn't end there, we will be busy helping long afterwards with family stuff as much as we can.

Pam's father was a very good man. He was a loving father that had no fear or hesitation in openly displaying love and affection for family. He was an Army veteran, a heavy equipment operator of over 30 years and he was a farmer too. The man had no off switch, just go, go, go. He cut and bailed hay and raised beef cattle on his farm. Great guy.

I believe we heard of the diagnosis in Sept of 2015, things progressed so rapidly, its been very difficult and a little too familiar.

Same here Dave. If you need someone to keep an eye on any one of the houses while you're at the funeral, just say the word and I'm on my way. Anything else we can help with, please reach out. You are among friends here, brother.
