I lived in Cheyenne from about 1973-79 while in the Air Force. Worked as a missile site manager in WY, CO and NE. I loved the hunting and fishing as well as the folks there. I made lots of friends while working part time at the Bunk House bar on Happy Jack Rd. It was an old A-Frame bar that has since burned down and been rebuilt as I have heard. Old Jess Cole owned the place and Hyde Merrit owned most of the cattle and grazing land around there. Tom Brown and Willy were building a log cabin home a few miles past the bar. Land was $300 an acre on Happy Jack Rd back then and I sure wished I had bought some. Myself and a few friends started the first Rod & Gun Club in Cheyenne during that time. I sure miss that place. Posted on Facebook by an apparent local. Not an everyday occurrence, but not all that unusual, either. They probably are headed back to the Air Force base which is a few blocks away. Antelope Right Of Way

I would be very happy if I could get a job in Cheyenne, drove though many times on my way NW, up thorough Casper or Rock Springs. Love WY, hope to retire nearby.
