Anyone take a game animal or shot this bullet at long range? Interested about its expanding capabilities.

Nope- I'm using the SST Hornady Super-Performance, .30-06, 150 gr. factory load.
Cheaper than the GMX, and works fine on caribou to - so far- 433 yards. The GMX is supposed to have exactly the same ballistics, so maybe I'll try it out. Just because. The SST gives me excellent accuracy in that rifle and does everything I ask or expect.
What is your definition of "long range"?
For comparative should someone else post on the GMX here is what the SST does for me.
On the last 2 caribou, the first was shot at @290 yards, through the lungs, missing ribs on both sides. Complete pass thru, nickel sized entry, quarter sized exit. The second was at 433 ranged. Again thru the lungs, but slightly angled. Missed bone going in, shattered the shoulder blade shank about 3 inches above the joint on exit. Exit hole hole about an inch and a half - somewhere around half-dollar size, maybe a bit more.
The only true cost of having a dog is its death.

I will be loading this for my 378 WBY mag at 3200 fps. Just wondering the longest possible range this will expand. I have used the 270 Interlock and even with the .385 BC I connected on bull elk from 500 to almost 800 yards. However on an up close shot it was almost all consumed by the speed.

My Daughter took a running buck at 265 yards (range finder) with the 139 grain GMX in her 7-08 and he dropped in his tracks although he was hit a little far back.

Ask hornady what speeds they expand down to. Compare to your velocity/drop chart. The expansion range will be different between different cartridges.

This is only one test, but my sense is that the GMX works (expands) better than the TSX, not as well as the Etip and TTSX. This is a mud/sugar sand matrix in a frequently flooded today area. The bullets were shot into this area from 155 yards. All bullets were 150 grain and fired from 30-06 with max loads of IMR 4064. l to r., GMX, TSX, TTSX, E-Tip, Accubond The GMX has acted similar in various other tests I've used it in including old hardbound books at 300 yards, snow and ice and 50-350 yards, etc.

This years we shot two cow elk at laser measured 400yds resulted in a bullet hole entrance and fifty cent piece exit. G-wrench was shooting a 30-06/150gr and I had a 338-06/185gr. I don't know the speed on the .30 but the .338 was a muzzle velocity of 2780fps. I never did a calc. to see what the velocity was at 400yds but the trajectory aligned perfectly with my scopes holdover tic marks so I didn't really care.
I like them and need to test some in the 6.5x284!

I've only used the .338 185's lately. Took a bull elk at 186yds, and caught the bullet after 3' of penetration. Another bull at 700yds, and bullet broke onside shoulder, souped lungs, and exited. 2 deer at 400+, both exits, both shoulders broken, vitals souped. I was pretty concerned about their performance when impact velocity dropped off but they seem to do pretty good even at low speeds.
