Does any one know:

1. How is the eyepiece removed? Nothing in the box or on the Meopta site teaches this.

2. Is there a LER eyepiece that will fit the Meopta S2/Euro HD/Night Force TS-82 or an adapter? I only see two zoom eyepieces on the Meopta site. Will eyepieces from previous Meopta models fit?

As for long eye relief I think the s2 has more than most and more than the big 3 other euro spotters. They do offer the wide angle eye piece.

The Eye relief is 18MM on the S2. The Swarovski 20x-60x eyepiece that I looked at at Cabela's was 17mm.

I wish I was at shot show this week. I tried to get ahold of the outfit dealing with McCann picatinny rails, somehow I lost the screws, they are all there too.

Unfortunately the eyepiece on the Cabelas Euro model is not removeable. That is the one basic difference from the Meopta S2. Other than that optics are the same. But the Cabelas Euro only comes with the dedicated EP.

Sorry for the bad news. But IMO the optics are stunning and the eye relief plenty adequate throughout the power range. Enjoy - you have an excellent spotter- especially for the $$.

IMO, only the Swaro ATX and maybe the Kowa 88 betters it; but then again, they cost more.

I don't care what the specs say the eye relief is way longer than Swarovski Leica and zeiss. The s2 is the finest spotter I have looked through

Llama2, I just found the manual for the NF TS-82 variant and it clearly illustrates how to remove the eyepiece on that version. I then did some more googling and noticed that the Cabela's version touts being fully sealed and nitrogen purged. This would explain the factory affixed eyepiece and is a plus from where I stand. I wish I'd seen your post as I've spent several more hours toiling over this. Thanks for your post. I'm surprised no one's outlined the differences between the three variants of this excellent spotting scope.

Cumminscowboy, I agree. I'm glad I heeded the advice of others and sought out the Euro. I did have an opportunity to compare it side-by-side to the Swaro ATS.

We bought one of the Cabelas in December. Even at 40 power, it picked up a gray fox 400 yards out, just before sunset, in the shadows and then showed the patterns in the bark of the oak tree behind the fox. A really great piece of hunting equipment.

Get the padded, zippered case for the Meopta version. this spotter is a very long-term product.

Which case is this?

These cases are made for the Meopta spotters. One is for the straight model and one is for the angled model. They fit the Cabelas Euro scopes, which are made by Meopta. There is a cutout for the attachment to your tripod and one so that the focus ring can be turned while the scope is in the case. There are attached covers for the lens and for the eyepiece, which fits very loosely and could easily be lost. They cost about $90.

But was wanting to hear opinions about this case...

I was wondering the same thing. I ordered the zippered stay-on case 550610 from Cameraland, but was shipped a neoprene bikini style case that doesn't cover the whole scope. They look to make a padded zippered bag. I've reached out to CL about the mixup. There seem to be three options.
I'll try to round up pics.

The neoprene Cabela's case is a sloppy fit.

The first one above doesn't let you rotate the body of the scope.

After reading, I wasn't compelled to buy it.

I ordered one of these and a case from Creedmoor. I'll post reviews when they arrive.
