Those detachable mags are just fugley and will just get in my way. I'd buy one with a standard floorplate but I guess that's too much to ask for...

More like Sweet.

Moderat recoil, accuracy is a plus. Knock down power is very acceptable to a good distance by my standards if the guy behind the trigger and the circumstances are prime for a well placed shot.

Have to concede this cartridge is not for the guy or circumstances that may call for a Texas heart shot on a Mule deer for example.

The grendel is a great cartridge, no doubt about. I love the 7.62x39 though, I have a CZ 527 carbine only 18 1/2" barrel. With Hornady 123grn SSTs I have taken a number of sambar deer down here, they have all been one shot kills.

Using 2219 (H322 I think to you blokes) I am getting 2,430 fps
with no presure signs, I could a little more i'm sure but can't see any reason to, 3 shot one hole group has me very happy. A lot of pig shooters here use the same load with great success

That sounds almost exactly like my .223.

Only the .223 is suitable for a Texas heart shot on mule deer.

Nope, I used to hunt with a SMLE and a 10 round Mag over 20 years ago. I can understand not liking the mag hanging down. I'd like to see the mag release moved to between the trigger guard and magazine.

Thanks for the correction!

I feel the same way about the CZ527, just something about the mag sticking out. Other then that, they are interesting guns. Thought about ordering one to re-barrel to 25-45 Sharps, but found a deal on a M7 around the same time those were hitting dealers online.

Speaking of the M7, for about the same package size one could have one chambered in a Creed and get 600yds more downrange in the bargain...a dangerous thought.
