My question why lay all those rifles and scopes on a carpet if your intention is to throw them on the ground and leave them in water. You might have less of a rust issue if you kept the fishing (snagging) gear and the rifles separate. Break Free CLP is pretty good stuff. Works good on tackle to. (My bad you do use Break Free). Looks like your not using enough. Others like a good coating of paste wax, that might work. Usually though rust is a sign of neglect.
