Yep, I'm ready. It's 18 degrees here right now with 20 to 30 MPH wind. Luckily, I'm getting on a cruise ship next Saturday.  Feb. 20 leaving out of Ft Lauderdale. Feb. 21 Princess Cays (private island) Feb. 22 at sea Feb. 23 St. Maarten Feb. 24 St. Thomas Feb. 25 Grand Turk Feb. 26 at sea Feb. 27 Ft. Lauderdale I'll post a couple of pictures of warmth when I get back. I hope you guys in the northern states stay warm. Then, a week and a half later, it's on to TX.

-2 degrees windchill -25 degrees with blowing and drifting snow as I type. It's all good its Feb in Rochester actually been a very mild winter thus far.

Small world.
Born in Martinez, raised in Port Chicago. Yes it is. I started with Shell at the refinery in Martinez and spent nine years there before heading off to West Texas then onward... I used to drive the Port Chicago Hiway (when it wasn't flooded) between work and home daily as it was a better drive than Hiway 4 for me. Easterners? I never would have thunk it. There ain't a whole lot goin on up there in Pitt. I'm sure work had a lot to do with it, but there's a lot of people that bail out of that place to find work. Nope, Pittsburg California.

I heading out coming Thursday to join the "Arizona" boys. Really looking forward to meeting the bunch. Just in now from two days in College Station touring A&M and the engineering facilities.

He is still waiting on one more response. The local UT offered him a $4k/year academic scholarship so we are still in limbo. We should know all by month end.

Well, here's hoping that he lands in the place that is right for him.
It is a satisfying time when a Dad gets to see his son pick a career path. Tough, because we still want to be in charge of tying their shoes, but satisfying because we can understand that they are picking their own adventure/life story.

Yes it is. This is my last with son #3. Each being very different in their approach. With Tony we did little. He cranked out the essays with neither of us reviewing, filled out the applications, asked for the credit card to submit and, boom, done. Like your son, a remarkable kid.

I went to Texas Tech myself, and they seem to have only grown better as a university. As much as we liked to poke fun at the Aggies, though, I've been pretty impressed with A&M Engineering grads I've dealt with. Ed, Joel, wagering both your sons will do very well

OK folks some unfortunate news BGCaty (Ben) has an injury to his foot and will under go surgery for tendon repair resulting in being in a hard cast for 4-6 weeks so he will not make this years hunt as planned. His son Stephen will still be joining us.
Therefore we have an opening for anyone that wants to hop in and join this years hunt.Pass the word and I will post a new posting in the campfire section.
