I did manage to paint over the starboard dog-house window on the first boat.
It was basically impossible to see out of one that WASN'T painted over so I don't think you did any damage.
You're probably correct but the CO noticed it... well... NOT the paint so much as the attempts to remove the paint... with acetone. The window had a nice pearlish white opaqueness that wasn't present on the other "windows".
