Ok don't kill me since this is not a bolt gun.I have a ar 308 Dpms upper with with an 18 inch x-caliber 358 win barrel with an Anderson adjustable gas block. Problem is it is not cycling correctly. I have the gas block wide open and i am running the bolt sloppy wet with oil. It will cycle with no mag in this state but will not cycle reliability with a mag in. It also just dripples the ejected case out on the ground when it does Cycle. The gas port size is just .067. From what I am reading this seems small, but can't get / find anything that says what the usual size for this round should be. Any one with any ideas?

Buffer and spring OK? Gas tube in good shape?

I just had the gas block off a DPMS GII Recon and while I didn't measure it, I thought the port was bigger than .067". Of course the GII Recon has a rep of being fairly violent in its ejection.

Please post what you figure out as I would like to built a 358 or 338 Fed on a GII sometime.
